Level Best Concrete Flooring has commenced works in January 2026 on a major external yard project in Northamptonshire, involving the removal, replacement, and recycling of a large concrete slab. The project demonstrates Level Best’s continued commitment to sustainable construction practices, efficiency, and innovation within the concrete flooring sector.
To minimise vehicle movements on site and significantly reduce the project’s carbon footprint, the existing concrete slab is being removed and crushed at the same location. Crushing the material on site not only supports environmental objectives but also increases productivity and site efficiency. By recycling the concrete in situ, Level Best has also achieved an estimated programme saving of one week on what was originally a five-week schedule, reducing operational downtime for the customer.
The mobile concrete crusher used on the project is capable of grading material into various sizes depending on specification requirements. For this scheme, the crusher is producing a 6F5 recycled aggregate, which will be compacted beneath the new reinforced concrete floor. The crusher is manufacturing recycled material at an impressive rate of approximately 150 tonnes per hour, ensuring continuity of works and programme certainty.
Upon completion of the Northamptonshire project, the mobile concrete crusher will be transported to its next scheme in Redcar on Teesside, where it will be deployed to crush another concrete floor slab, further supporting Level Best’s efficient and sustainable approach across multiple projects.
